Blending the automotive customizing scene with club-style entertainment and aftermarket-accessory vendors, the Al & Ed's Autosound Auto Show Underground will take over 140,000 square feet of the Anaheim Convention Center for the 2008-model Orange County Auto Show. The Underground will showcase the hottest rides decked out with chrome, carbon fiber, body kits, custom paint, alloy wheels and the latest high-performance accessories.
A gathering of custom rides will showcase the latest aftermarket trends from several local car owners and customizing clubs, including hot rods from Cruisin' for a Cure and modified Mustangs from Stangpede.
Show visitors are encouraged to take the escalator down and check out the lower level of South Hall, where this show within the show will offer disc jockeys, custom celebrity rides, interactive entertainment and more.
This year's lineup will feature two bikini contests. The Miss OC Auto Show Pageant at 8 p.m. Friday will give the winner of the Miss OC Auto Show title and the winner of the popularity vote (based on the loudest audience cheers) the chance to compete in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Orange County Pageant at 3 p.m. Saturday, sponsored by KLSX/97.1 FM.
Show-goers will be invited to hop in a tricked-out 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV and experience the ear-pounding power of Al & Ed's Autosound's 15,000-watt Rockford Fosgate amplifier and eight 15-inch subwoofers that fill the entire tailgate.
The Dub Magazine Celebrity Car Showcase will offer attendees a rare up-close look at customized rides from music and sports celebrities, as well as the Dub big-rig truck with video screens and music. Car customizer to the stars Bigg Slice will display a collection of vehicles from music celebrities including Snoop Dogg.
Another gathering of custom rides will showcase the latest aftermarket trends from several local car owners and customizing clubs, including hot rods from Cruisin' for a Cure, modified Mustangs from Stangpede and more than 100 hooked-up cars and trucks from Team Hokori, Team Sciontific, Europrojektz, Team Hyzone and many more.
The Underground also will provide interactive entertainment to drivers of all ages at the Radio Controlled Car Display, where they can test their skills at maneuvering the latest RC18R models on a race course.
Also, the latest racing and sports video games will be available to play in the IGX Video Game Arena, with more than 17 stations featuring games for Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
