About the Show

The Orange County Auto Show is an indoor exhibit of 2008-model vehicles. The show is owned and presented by the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association. It is sponsored by The Orange County Register and OCCarfinder.com and produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows Inc.

ADVANCE TICKETS AND DISCOUNTS
Advance E-tickets are available at www.orangecountyautoshow.com. Coupons for $2 off one adult admission valid Thursday and Friday may be downloaded from the Web site. The Orange County Register will carry coupons good for two adult admissions for the price of one, valid Thursday and Friday.

VEHICLE HIGHLIGHTS
• More than 500 new-model vehicles from more than 40 domestic and foreign manufacturers will be on display under one roof in a nonselling environment.
• Concept vehicles: Chevrolet Camaro convertible, Chevrolet Volt, Chrysler Imperial, Ford Reflex, Ford Shelby GR-1, Hyundai Genesis, Jeep Hurricane, Lincoln MKR, Mazda Kabura, Saab Aero X and Suzuki Flix
• Exotic cars: Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and more, plus a collection of high-end exotics courtesy of the duPont Registry
• Hybrid and flex-fuel vehicles: Chevrolet, Mazda, Ford, Mercury, GMC, Nissan, Honda, Saturn, Lexus and Toyota

SPECIAL FEATURES AND DISPLAYS
• Toyota Trucks Off Road On Site Adventure: Visitors can take a free test drive in a Toyota Tundra, Tacoma and FJ Cruiser on an off-road course. Hours are 1-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
• Fuel Cell Ride & Drive: Visitors can test-drive several fuel-cell-powered vehicles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, courtesy of the California Fuel Cell Partnership.
• Education Corner: Exhibit focusing on technology, education and career opportunities in the automotive industry, courtesy of Cerritos College

Auto Show Underground: An area of the show that blends the West Coast’s automotive customizing scene with club-style entertainment. The Underground, presented by Al & Ed’s Autosound, features “image vehicles,” celebrity cars, disc jockeys, and displays and vendors of mobile electronics and aftermarket accessories.

• Dub Magazine Celebrity Car Showcase: 5,000-square-foot display of tricked-out vehicles from various music and sports celebrities, along with the Dub big rig, courtesy of Dub magazine

• Al & Ed’s Autosound 15,000-Watt Experience: A 15,000-watt Rockford Fosgate amplifier and eight 15-inch subwoofers fill the entire tailgate of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV.

• Image vehicles presented by No Sympathy and Stangpede

• So-Cal Speed Shop Display, featuring Jimmy Shine’s 1934 bare-metal Ford pickup “Bare Nekkid,” and a 1970 Chevrolet El Camino supercar, courtesy of Spectre Performance

• Unique Vehicle Display, presented by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters Inc. and Camera Ready Cars, features limited-edition and concept vehicles such as the Foose Coupe, a 550-horsepower open-wheeled hot rod designed by Chip Foose.

• Xtreme Vehicles: custom luxury and everyday vehicles personalized with elaborate stereo systems, video monitors, Bluetooth, iPod, interior and exterior modifications and one-of-a-kind wheels, courtesy of Al & Ed’s Autosound

• Customized sport compacts and hot rods, courtesy of local car and truck clubs

• Miss OC Auto Show Pageant: 8 p.m. Friday

• Miss Hawaiian Tropic Orange County Pageant: 3 p.m. Saturday, featuring radio personality Tom Leykis as guest judge
