Flagship joins the Lexus hybrid-vehicle fleet
from Lexus
The launch of the LS 600h introduces Lexus’ revolutionary high-performance hybrid technology to the flagship of the brand. Following the RX 400h and the GS 400h, the LS 600h is Lexus’ third vehicle to feature the hybrid system. Lexus is the first and only premium manufacturer to offer a comprehensive hybrid model range.
The LS 600h offers the ultimate in design, performance, efficiency and safety, without the normally associated penalties of high fuel consumption and emission levels.
The LS 600h is the world’s first vehicle to feature a full hybrid V-8 powertrain, combining a gas engine with a high-output electric motor, a newly designed large-capacity battery pack, a dual-stage, electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and permanent all-wheel drive.
Lexus also offers the highest content of sophisticated active and passive safety technology in the world. Its advanced precrash safety system offers maximum collision-avoidance assistance through four unique Lexus technologies: Obstacle Detection, driver monitoring, emergency steering assist and a rear precrash safety system.
The LS 600h is further equipped with front and side laminated windows, four-zone air conditioning, electric seat heating and ventilation, and a high-speed satellite navigation system that includes traffic-avoidance technology, an 8-inch touch-screen display and a voice-command system for control of audio, air conditioning, navigation and Bluetooth wireless phone operation.
The standard 10-speaker sound system features a six-disc in-dash CD changer and steering-wheel-mounted controls. A state-of-the-art, 19-speaker, 400-watt Mark Levinson Reference “surround sound” system is optional.
